Building community resilience in Chicago's South Side

The Social Life of Cities Collaborative - a new project developed in partnership with Cisco and the Young Foundation - kicks off this week with two workshops in Chicago.

The workshops are the first step in developing a new project using hyper-local technology to build community resilience.  The workshops will bring together community organizations working with neighborhoods in Chicago's South Side, the City of Chicago, Metropolitan Planning Council, University of Chicago and others, to talk about what resilience means for local communities.

The aim is to work together to develop, prototype and test new digital tools or services to support the community and help community organizations to tackle local issues.

We will be posting more this week so keep reading.  To read more about the Social Life of Cities see our recent presentations on slideshare.
