As part of our Future Communities programme we are working with Barking and Dagenham Council to raise awareness in the local community about the Barking Riverside developement.
The development aims to build 10,000 new homes in the next twenty years, creating a whole new neighbourhood on a brownfield site. The first phase of the project is already underway with a new school and community centre near completion. However most of the residents living next to the development know very little about it and currently there are few ways for them to get involved. As part of our work with the council we are organising a community event by the river with London Wildlife Trust and Barking Riverside Ltd to creatively engage local residents with the changes taking place.
