Understanding Southwark: an in-depth account of six areas

This report takes an in-depth look at the findings of research in six areas across Southwark, drawing on interviews with residents, traders and stakeholders. The research was carried out in three phases, in summer 2020, winter 2020-21 and summer 2021.

This is part of a year-long research programme commissioned by Southwark Council, which took place between April 2020 and August 2021.

The research explored the impact of COVID-19 across the borough, and daily life in six areas going through change in Camberwell, Elephant & Castle, Old Kent Road, Peckham, Walworth and the social housing estates in Dulwich.
