In the summer of 2021 Social Life was commissioned by Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) to help understand the impact of a series of public space projects from Willesden Junction station to Harlesden Canalside. Our researchers spent a few sunny days strolling up and down the canal, joined by local residents, who shared their thoughts on the area and the planned projects.
The first round of research, based on a series of walking ethnographies with people who live and work in the area, were carried out in August and September 2021.
Download our baseline report here which describes what we found.
This year, we’re excited to return to the same spots with many of the projects completed. We’re looking forward to walking down the canal on sunny days again with local residents. We are also going to be talking to the people on the streets, asking quick questions about the area and their opinions about the completed projects.
If you’d like to take part in an interview walking along the canal with us please send us a message on hello@social-life.co
