Social Life is running a workshop for the Barnwood Trust on Friday October 16th Gloucester, exploring how we build new commuities, not just new settlements.
This is part of Barnwood Trust's professional practice workshops series, aimed at professionals involved in planning and building new communities.
The workshop will explore how new housing developments can become successful, sustainable communities. How can we ensure that social sustainability, as well as economic and environmental sustainability, are designed and built in from the start? We will look at how building thriving communities depends on both the way our streets are built and how a strong sense of community is developed. It will focus on the idea of "social sustainability" and how this can be used as a framework for planning and action.
This is part of the Barnwood Trust's wider work creating more welcoming and inclusive communities across Gloucestershire.
