Community-led housing and health

Social Life has partnered with Ouri Labs to develop a programme of work to make the case for the health benefits of community-led housing. Our ultimate aim is to accelerate the development of commuity-led housing on NHS land.

There is a lack of comprehensive evidence about the health impacts of Community Land Trusts on residents, neighbours and wider communities. There is also little guidance for commissioners and practitioners who are exploring the potential of community led housing projects. Our aim is to generate this evidence base, and understanding the role of community-led housing as a key element of public health strategies.

This will draw on Social Life and Ouri Labs’ practical understanding of community-led housing, and their well-established track record of working with agencies to maximise their social value.
