Today we are launching a report about the results of a community consultation project about Somerleyton Road in Brixton. For the past few weeks the Social Life team has been working with a group of Brixton residents, local businesses, community organisations and networks talking about the future of Somerleyton Road, an under-used site near the centre of Brixton that is being redeveloped by Lambeth Council in partnership with Brixton Green and Ovalhouse.
Social Life was commissioned by Brixton Green to run a series of deliberative workshops to involve local people and businesses in developing detailed and realistic plans for the site.
This report describes the discussions and conclusions from Social Life's community consultation work including 12 action planning workshops and two community events that took place between January and May 2013.
