The Social Life of Cities: What is the designer's role?
This discussion addressed the importance of the built environment to the social life of the city, and explored the techniques designers can use to ensure the places they make encourage play in the widest sense, and nurture thriving communities.
Based on projects by architects and urbanists John Thompson & Partners (JTP), and recent research by Social Life, this event looked at social sustainability and the ongoing placemaking debate; offering both theoretical insights and practical advice on how to put life into our neighbourhoods, towns and cities.
