Social Life has partnered with Ouri Labs and Impact on Urban Health to develop a programme of work to make the case for the health benefits of community-led housing. Our ultimate aim is to accelerate the development of commuity-led housing on NHS land.
This project has been nurtured by the research arm of the Social Life family but now sits within the work of Social Life Practice CIC's work on new models for housing and regeneration.
There is a lack of comprehensive evidence about the health impacts of Community Land Trusts on residents, neighbours and wider communities. There is also little guidance for commissioners and practitioners who are exploring the potential of community led housing projects. We have been analysing and understanding this evidence base, to explore the potential role of community-led housing as a key element of public health strategies.
This will draw on Social Life and Ouri Labs’ practical understanding of community-led housing, and our well-established track record of working with agencies to maximise their social value.
